These terms govern the use of ExtMonetize (the “Service”), operated by ExtMonetize.
The Service allows a browser-extension developer (“you”) to monetize their extensions: managing pricing plans, collecting payments through Stripe, issuing a verifiable premium status and tracking analytics. Creating an account constitutes express acceptance of these terms and of our privacy policy.
You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity carried out from your account. Your API keys commit your account: the publishable key is public and meant to be embedded in your extensions, while the secret key must never be exposed client-side.
The Service is reserved for professionals and for adults with the legal capacity to contract.
Payments from your users are processed by Stripe through Stripe Connect and collected directly into your own Stripe account. We never hold your funds at any point and do not act as a payment institution.
You are the seller towards your end users. It is therefore your responsibility to define your own terms of sale, to handle your refunds and disputes, and to meet your tax obligations, including collecting and reporting any applicable VAT or sales tax.
Use of Stripe is subject to Stripe’s own terms, which you accept during Connect onboarding.
The Service has no subscription and no fixed fee. We charge a commission of 5% of the amount of each successful transaction, applied when the payment is collected. The rate shown here is the platform rate; where a specific rate has been agreed with you, that is the one that applies. Stripe’s own fees come on top of this commission and are charged by Stripe to your account.
Any change to the commission will be notified to you by email before it takes effect, and will apply only to transactions occurring after that notice.
You undertake to:
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Service’s SDK and APIs for the purpose of monetizing your extensions. The SDK source code is distributed under the MIT license; the rest of the Service, its brand and its interface remain our property.
You retain all rights over your extensions, your content and your data.
We use reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted operation. Maintenance work may temporarily suspend access.
The premium status mechanism relies on a signed token verified client-side by the SDK. Like any check running on the user’s own machine, it can be bypassed by a determined user. It is your responsibility to protect the genuinely sensitive capabilities of your extension on your own server: we make no guarantee of absolute resistance to piracy.
We cannot be held liable for indirect damages, in particular loss of revenue, customers or data. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the amount of commissions we collected in respect of your account.
We are not responsible for failures of Stripe or of the extension stores, nor for the consequences of a misconfiguration on your part.
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. Because your customers, active subscriptions and payment history reside in your own Stripe account, they remain entirely yours.
We may suspend or terminate your access in the event of a serious breach of these terms, after notice and, where the breach can be remedied, a formal request that has gone unanswered.
We may update these terms. Any substantial change will be notified to you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
